Stepan Company Launches European Supply Chain Sustainability Council

June 30, 2022

Stepan Company works to drive continuous improvement in our business practices as part of our vision to provide innovative chemical solutions for a cleaner, healthier and more energy efficient world. To further our commitment to supply chain management and emissions reduction, Stepan recently launched the European Supply Chain Sustainability Council.

The European Supply Chain Sustainability Council is focused on engaging all areas of our European business to track and forecast future needs, and to help Stepan make progress toward our sustainability goals.

To date, the European Supply Chain Sustainability Council has begun to:

  • Engage key employees in collaborative discussions and education
  • Define how data will be collected
  • Identify primary project enhancements and needs
  • Develop best practices

“Even though the European Supply Chain Sustainability Council started in May, it has already fostered deeper conversations around sustainable practices for our leadership team. The changes we are making today will not only positively impact the future performance of the company, but also our local and global communities,” explained Anne Vaylet, EHS&S Manager – Europe. “We know that sustainability is more than checking a box, which is why we are evaluating every process to ensure sustainable practices become integrated into our operational systems.”

Over the next year, the European Supply Chain Sustainability Council will continue to develop the current foundation to help drive results across the organization. These changes and effectively quantifying the impacts, will also support the growing number of customers who are seeking product environmental impact information. Stepan’s goal is to continue bringing positive change on key global sustainability issues.
